The road to community college success begins with your student deciding on an educational path that points to a specific career.  If a student is “undecided” we encourage you to help them select a possible career earlier than later in the process.

The tools on this website will help you in this process. The most important thing is that your student finds a career that matches his/her interests, natural abilities, and personality. If you do not do this you may find yourself very unhappy in your chosen field!

Our recommendation is that you confirm any career choice using the resources available here that will measure your interests, natural abilities, and personality.

Learn more about your unique gifts and the careers that match them.

Confirm your existing career choice

Discover other possible careers that may better fit your personality.

Identify careers that do not fit your unique gifts.

Find helpful information about how you learn and retain information.

Gain insights that will assist in your relationships with others.

Engage with these findings if you are doing poorly in the college courses required for your desired major. This may be an indication that your career choice does not match your natural abilities, personality, or interests.

Let’s help your community college
student discover his/her unique gifts,
interests, talents, and abilities
using these websites.

Truity Typefinder

Help your student gain insights about themselves. The Truity Typefinder is a free online test based on the personality type theories developed by Karl Jung and Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs-Myers.

Once you have helped your student determine a career and the level of education required for it, you can begin to complete an iGraduate Roadmap to Success.

If you are still undecided that’s OK! Simply have a student temporarily choose a major on page one of the Road Map to Success Academic Planning Tool that best describes his/her general area of interest:

➝ Arts & Humanities
➝ Social & Behavioral Sciences
➝ Natural Sciences
➝ Liberal Studies

Use your college catalog to view the courses that are included in this major. You can change your major to match a specific career later. You can also earn an Associate’s Degree and transfer from community college with one of these majors.
